PURPOSE:To quickly and exactly understand a receiving error by monitoring the data length of a data following a high level data link control procedure, and discriminating whether the receiving error exists or not, based on its data length. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a monitoring means for monitoring the data length of a data signal and a deciding means for deciding the error of a receiving data, based on the data length. At the time of receiving a binary signal, a receiving data length is monitored, and based on its data length, whether an error exists in a receiving signal or not is discriminated. Also, at the time of receiving the binary signal, the data length of a data following a high level data link control is monitored, and when it exceeds some prescribed length (for instance, 128 bytes), its receiving data is decided to be an error, and the next operation is executed. Moreover, when flag information affixed to the terminal of the data following the high level data link control procedure is detected in the midst of receiving the binary signal, when the length of the receiving data is below some prescribed length (for instance, <=5 bytes), its received data is decided to be an error.
