PURPOSE:To prevent an original from abutting against to an original abutting reference wall and being damaged during redischarge thereof, by making the reference wall retractable. CONSTITUTION:A reference wall 32 against which an original abuts, is planted on one side surface of a digitizer device 3. The reference wall 32 is normally set at a position as shown by a solid line, at which the original is guided, but during discharge of the original from a copying machine, a solenoid 37 is energized in synchronization with this timing, to pull a link 35 so that the reference wall 32 is retracted to a position 32' indicated by a chain line. Accordingly, even if the original skews caused by a trouble during conveyance, so that it slips upward, it is possible to prevent the original from abutting against the reference wall and being damaged since the reference wall is retracted rearward.
