PURPOSE:To attain an automatic resetting system to an original point by using the dog detecting signals of two dog detectors to automatically decide the relation between the present position of a machine table and the position of the original point at the time of resetting to original point. CONSTITUTION:A 1st limit switch 14 is attached to a movable stage 1 serving as a machine table for a machine tool and detects an original point resetting dog 9. While a 2nd limit switch 15 is attached at a position orthogonal to the moving direction of both the switch 14 and the stage 1 and detects a deciding dog 13 for direction of an original. When the original point resetting signal is supplied at the time of resetting to an original point, it is decided whether the switch 15 is detecting a dog 13 or not to decide the relation between the present position of the stage 1 and the position of the original point. Then an electrical original point 11a is specified via the switch 14 and a mechanical original point 12 is specified based on the point 11a and by driving a motor 3 by an amount equal to the displacement differential between both the points 11a and 12. In such a way, an automatic original point resetting action is attained after deciding automatically the relation between the present position of the stage 1 and the position of the original point.
