PURPOSE:To attain the interconnection between plural LANs not through a gateway by connecting token passing protocol control sections with a bus connecting a central processing unit, a main memory device and a line control section and connecting a communication terminal equipment corresponding to each of the LANs to the line control section. CONSTITUTION:A data from a terminal equipment 8A enters a line control section 7, is stored in a main memory section 6 by the control of a microprocessor 5, which discriminates to which part said data is to be transmitted by using a predetermined data format. The data demultiplexed by a demultiplexing section 102 in a node to which a terminal equipment 8B to receive the data belongs is sent to a token passing protocol section 4B belonging to a LAN B and stored in the main storage section 6. In receiving thc data by a terminal equipment, the microprocessor 5 applies control to the terminal equipment that the data is to be received from a token passing protocol control section being the accommodation destination of its own node set in advance.
