PURPOSE:To simultaneous quantitative determination of two components; a nitrogen compd. and phosphorus compd. or three components; a nitrogen compd., phosphorus compd. and org. compd. by commonly providing a means for supplying a sample, means for adjusting pH, means for supplying ozone and means for decomposing ozone to a pretreatment part. CONSTITUTION:The pretreatment part 28 is constituted of a pump 13 as the means for supplying the sample to supply the sample water to reaction vessels 11, 12 which make quantitative determination of the nitrogen compd. and phosphorus compd. respectively by oxidation decomposition, pumps 22A, 22B, a hydrochloric acid tank 24 and caustic soda tank 25 as the means for adjusting the pH of the sample water, a heater 21 as the means for heating the reaction vessel for the phosphorus compd., a blower 19 and ozonizer 20 as the means for supplying the ozone to supply the ozone to the reaction vessels 11, 12 and a decomposition furnace 16A as the means for decomposing the ozone to decompose the ozone discharged from the reaction 12. The orthophosphoric acid formed by the oxidation decomposition of the phosphorus compd. is measured in a quantitative determination part 17 for the phosphorus compd. and the nitric acid formed by the oxidation decomposition of the nitrogen compd. is measured in a quantitative determination part 18 for the nitrogen compd.
