PURPOSE:To secure the reliability of backup by starting a computer in which the abnormality is occurred, from its initial state, when a computer system for backup does not exist. CONSTITUTION:N sets of computer systems 12 and one set of a computer system 13 for the backup are connected on the same bus 11. Each computer system 12 fetches the operating state signals of other computer systems 12, 13, and decides whether the computer system 13 for backup exists or nor. When the computer system 13 for backup exists, an AND gate 332 is opened, and when the abnormality detecting means 32 of its own computer system outputs an abnormality signal '1', it is outputted (f), and its own computer system is set to a state that is remains down. When the computer system 13 for backup is used already for the backup of other computer, and there is no backup, a gate 334 is opened, a one shot pulse (c) generated by the leading of the abnormality signal '1' is outputted, and initialization and restart are executed.
