PURPOSE:To obtain a spike tire having retreatable spike pins, by defining an air layer of a tire into inner and outer layers through a wall then providing spike pins planted on a cover to the outside air layer and regulating the pneumatic pressure in the outside air layer. CONSTITUTION:An upper air chamber 3 and a lower air chamber 4 of a spike tire are defined by a wall 6 and provided respectively with take-in ports 7, 8. Spikes 5 are fixed to the wall 6 and the tip thereof is made projectable to the tread of tire. With such arrangement, when the pneumatic pressure in the lower air chamber 4 is increased, said chamber 4 inflates and the spikes 5 retreat from the tread thus serving as a common tire. On the contrary, when the pneumatic pressure is reduced, the spikes 5 project thus serving as a spike tire. With such arrangement, the spikes can project/retreat so as to protect the pavement from damage.
