In the case of an aircraft propeller, the propeller blades are of identical shape but are fitted in an unequal distribution on the circumference of the propeller hub. A four-bladed propeller is designed in an X-shape with two mutually opposite angles alpha 1 of approximately 50 DEG and larger angles alpha 2 of approximately 110 DEG in order to distribute the acoustic energy between two fundamental frequencies and thus to achieve a reduction in noise.
