The proposal is for a liquid friction clutch which is preferably used for driving a cooling fan of an internal combustion engine. The oil feed hole (19) for the engagement and disengagement of the clutch is controlled by means of a permanent magnet (24) which is axially displaceable in the clutch end wall and is actuated to produce an axial displacement by an electromagnet (35) mounted separately from the clutch. <IMAGE>
