Technical object and objective of the invention Lead-acid accumulators electrophysically form lead sludge as a result of charging and discharging processes (for example starting and driving of a passenger vehicle). It is thus a question of time until the distance between the lead plates and the accumulator base is filled with lead sludge, leading to the plates being short-circuited. An accumulator becomes unserviceable at this point in time. From experience, this takes three to four years. The "lifetime" of an accumulator can be significantly extended by means of the lead sludge suction devices (at least 10 years). Solution of the problem A lead-acid accumulator is drilled into, after being emptied in accordance with the regulations, at those two wall points (Sketch 1, Item 3) which are opposite and the greatest distance apart, and is provided with special sealing connecting stubs (internal thread). After this, once the battery has been filled with distilled water, a pumping system is connected which has an immanent (internal) filter (Sketch 1, Item 4 - Item 5 - Item 6). The resulting powerful flow flushes the lead sludge away so that it can be retained in the filter (Sketch 1, Item 4). After this nuts with a fitting thread seal the lead-acid accumulator again. Field of application Lead-acid accumulators in all motor vehicles licensed in accordance with the German Road Traffic Act. <IMAGE>
