PURPOSE:To equalize the lubricating film thickness on both the inside periphery and the outside periphery of a magnetic disk, by providing a mask screen of a shape in which the spray center part reduces the quantity of a scattered lubricant and the restriction quantity is opened as it is separated from the center, on an applying means. CONSTITUTION:In a lubricant supply unit 1, a diluted lubricant is put in beforehand, and a magnetic disk 5 is attached to a magnetic disk fitting spindle 4. A misty lubricant is applied to the rotating magnetic disk 5 through a mask screen 3 having a shape which can control an adhesion quantity, by pressurized gas from a lubricant spray nozzle 2. By changing the shape of this mask screen 3, the adhesion quantity of the lubricant applied to the surface of the magnetic disk medium becomes uniform in both the peripheral direction and the radial direction.
