PURPOSE:To attain a recording medium convenient for the portability by forming the titled disk by a rectangular jacket in a form where a side having a read/write window is cut off by a straight line while leaving the center hole of the jacket and by a magnetic or optical recording disk contained in the jacket and notched for the cut-off part. CONSTITUTION:A disk 5 which is 84mm in diameter is contained a card-shaped jacket 54mm long by 88mm wide, the center of the disk is selected at a position apart by 10mm inward from the open ridge, a metal-made center hub 8 which is 12mm in diameter having the same thickness as that of the jacket 4 is fitted and a center hub retainer 9 which is 14mm in diameter and 0.3mm thick is adhered thereto. The diameter of the center hole is 6mm. A straight line chord 2-2' is adopted for the ridge of notch of the disk 5, the cross section of the reinforced ridge 3mm wide and 1mm thick at maximum is formed to be a modified rhombic shape to smooth the drive of the disk with a seal of the jacket open ridge.
