PURPOSE:To stop the flow of water by preventing the cracking of coupler parts by absorbing thermal stress of concrete by using a reinforcing bar cage in which a tenon part formed of a vertically directed hollow square-cylindrical material of a small elastic modulus is attached to the joint end of concrete. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing bar cage 5 with a tenon part made of a vertically directed hollow square-cylindrical material of a small elastic modulus, which has 1/2 width of an excavated trench for the joint end of concrete, is set in trenches 1 and 3 for a thick underground continuous wall, and concrete is placed and hardened to construct underground walls 6 and 6'. In excavating a trench 2 for underground wall to join the walls 6 and 6', the joint end of the walls 6 and 6', together with outside 1 of the tenon part, is excavated to an adequate width. A coupler part 7 consisting of a concrete coupler 7a and the recessed expandible coupler 7b of the tenon part is formed and the underground wall 6'' is joined through the coupler 7.
