PURPOSE:To add effective sender information discriminated easily by the operator of an opposite receiver by using a facsimile protocol signal from the receiver so as to discriminate a country where the opposite receiver is located and selecting a ROM storing the sender information pattern corresponding to the country. CONSTITUTION:A country code detection section 13 receives a facsimile protocol signal from a line 105 to detect a country code in the facsimile signal and inputs the result to a CPU 14 from a data line 107. The CPU 14 identifies the country code and outputs an address of the ROM storing the sender information pattern in response to the country code to an address bus 100. In receiving an address to select a ROM a1 from the address bus 100, a ROM selector 12 outputs a selection signal 102 and outputs a selection signal 103 in receiving the address to select the ROM a2 from the address bus 100. A picture processing section 15 outputs the read address of the ROM stored in the ROM block 11 to the address bus 100 to read the sender information pattern from a data bus 101.
