PURPOSE:To perform good printing without generating the blind hammering against a pedestal, by a method wherein the upper part of the pedestal having a projection provided to the lower part thereof from the projection arranging part is cut into a tapered shape inclined to the side of a hammering surface. CONSTITUTION:A daisy wheel is constituted so that the upper part of the pedestal 2 thereof from the projection 1 performing the formation of a character provided to said pedestal 2 is cut into a tapered shape inclined to a hammering surface. The height of the pedestal 2 is set so as to be made substantially the same to that of the guide groove of the hammer and the triangle rib 3 corresponding to the guide groove of the hammer is provided to the back surface of the pedestal. In this inventive daisy wheel having the pedestal mentioned above, since the pedestal 2 is cut into a tapered shape, the stand 2 does not strike a platen 6 at the time of printing and the generation of pedestal hammering observed heretofore can be prevented. Even when the stop accuracy of the daisy wheel is slightly inferior, the triangle rib is housed in the wide groove t1 formed to the upper end part of the guide groove of the hammer at first and subsequently gradually housed in the guide groove toward the narrow lower end part of said groove to prescribe a hammering position and, therefore, the blind hammering of the pedestal can be prevented.
