PURPOSE:To form a golden ornamental surface having superior adhesion by forming a TiN film on the surface of an ornament and an Au-Ni-Cr or Au-Fe-Cr alloy film on the TiN film. CONSTITUTION:A TiN film of 0.5-2mum thickness is formed on the surface of an ornament made of a metal, glass, ceramics, plastics or the like by vacuum deposition, ion plating, sputtering, CVD or other method. An Au-Cr-Ni or Au-Fe- Cr alloy film of 0.1-2mum thickness is then formed on the TiN film by a similar method, especially by ion plating. An ornamental surface having superior adhesion to the material of the ornament and a gold color tone can be simply formed.
