PURPOSE:To improve a straightening accuracy and working efficiency by providing the toggle link whose lower side link is connected to a ram and whose upper side link to the main body of a straightening machine and reciprocating the intermediate pivotally fitting part thereof at a reverse V-shaped position and nearly linear position as well. CONSTITUTION:Links 26a, 26b at an upper side are supported on the fixing part of the frame 8 of the strainghtening machine main body 1, links 27a, 27b of a lower side are provided on the toggle link connected to a ram 10 and the ball screw 16 having a male screw part 17 and nut part 18 as the intermediate pivotally fitting part thereof is arranged as well. When a work 2 is rotated by being pinched between centers, a detector detects a bend amt. and operates the push-in amt. of the ram 10 therefor. A servomotor 15 is actuated with controlling the descent speed of the ram 10 and the toggle link is moved from a reverse V shape up to nearly straight line position to straighten the work 2. Owing to the pressurization being performed with a toggle mechanism, the straightening accuracy and working efficiency are improved.
