PURPOSE:To eliminate a caulking putty burying work, by a method wherein a foaming sealer is situated to the flange part of a sun roof housing through a gap being large enough to allow passage of an electrodeposition solution, and through foaming of the foaming sealer after electrodeposition, the gap is sealed. CONSTITUTION:A foaming sealer 9 is coated on a peripheral flange part 6 of a sun roof housing 3, and with this state, and the flange part is mounted to a roof 7. A gap C being large enough to allow smooth flow of an electrodeposition solution is formed between the upper surface of the foaming sealer 9 and the under surface of the roof 7. After electrodeposition, in a baking and drying process, the foaming sealer 9 is foamed to seal the gap C, and sealing of a space between the under surface of the roof 7 and the flange part 6 is automatically effected. This constitution enables elimination of a work of burying the gap with caulking patty, which is heretofore effected.
