PURPOSE:To decrease the number of measured samples, to improve stop moisture content accuracy, and to prevent grains from over-drying by calculating a mean value and standard deviation data from moisture content data obtained by performing measurement by a moisture content measuring means continuously specific times, and controlling the number of times of measurement and the measurement time according to the standard deviation data. CONSTITUTION:The moisture content measuring means 36 measures the moisture content of grains and sends moisture content data to a mean value calculating means 38 and a standard deviation calculating means 40 through a control means 42. The means 38 calculates mean value data on the moisture content for deciding the stop of the drying operation of a dryer from the moisture content data obtained by measuring it continuously specific times in one measurement period. The standard deviation calculating means 40 calculates the standard deviation data. A control means 42 computes the number of times of continuous measurement for the moisture content and intervals of the measurement period in one measurement period according to the standard deviation data inputted from the means 40 and controls the operation of the moisture content measuring means 36.
