PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has excellent antioxidant activity and is suited for use in food, cosmetic and medicine and which comprises tea leaf extracts and, added thereto, an aliph. hydroxy carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:Tea leaf extracts (A) prepd. by extracting tea leaves with a water-soluble org. solvent such as methanol or ethanol, water or a mixture thereof is mixed with at least one aliph. hydroxy carboxylic acid (B) selected from among citric acid, malic acid and tartaric acid, so that the wt. ratio of component (A) to component (B) is 1:0.1-20.
