PURPOSE:To prevent a signal from being reproduced in an edge line part, and to improve the picture quality by constituting an edge line constituted of the surface facing an air-gap part of a head core and the surface sliding to a recording body, and an operating gap of the head core, so as to be non-parallel. CONSTITUTION:The first and the second magnetic heads 2, 3 are fixed to a head base 4 along the track advance direction. Between edge lines 6, 8 constituted of a core surface facing an air-gap part between operating gaps 5, 7 of both the heads 2, 3 and the surface sliding to a recording body, and each operating gap 5, 6, they are constituted by a straight line, and also, in non-parallel so as to have an angle difference of >=8 deg., for instance, an angle of 15 deg.. Accordingly, a signal which has been brought to pickup by the edge line part is cancelled by a phase difference, and an adverse influence on a picture quality can be eliminated.
