PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance and replacement by forming a projection part onto the rear part of a secondary piston opposed to a primary piston and urging a piston stopper engaged with the projection part in the separating direction from a primary hydraulic pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION:A projection part 8c is formed at the rear part of a secondary piston 8, and a stopper 33 which can be engaged with the projection part 8c is formed between the projection part 8c and a liquid discharge port 19. The stopper 33 projects into a primary hydraulic chamber 7 from a hydraulic control valve 5 side, penetrating through a housing 6. The stopper 33 is urged by an elastic body 46 in the direction separating from the primary hydraulic chamber 7. Therefore, when a master cylinder is disassembled for maintenance inspection and replacement of parts, the hydraulic control valve 5 is demounted, and the secondary piston 8 is pulled out from inside the housing 6, and the sealing member 16 and projection part 21a can be prevented from being damaged.
