PURPOSE:To freely listen to background music depending on the user's preference at the use of a telephone set by using a limit switch so as to utter a prescribed voice message selectively and devising the titled equipment so as to produce a background music on the line in turning on a manual switch. CONSTITUTION:In hooking off a handset, depositing a coin or loading a telephone card, an on-signal (a) from a limit switch is inputted to an AND circuit 1 and also inputted to an interface circuit 3. An utterance start signal is raised from the interface circuit 3 to a voice synthesis circuit 4 through the input and the output of the voice synthesis circuit 4 is outputted from a speaker 7. If the user desires to listen to a background music, the user depresses a pushbutton switch, a background music signal is given to a mixing circuit 5 through the telephone line and the background music is given from the speaker 7 by a prescribed sound volume.
