PURPOSE:To copy not only a sheet original but also a bound document by providing a copying machine base for fixing the bound document, separately from a main body, so that the main body travels freely on this copying machine base and reads the document. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine base 102 for fixing the bound document is provided separately from the copying machine main body 100, and a running driving part 107 is provided on the base 102 and connected by one piece of cable. Also, the feeding quantity of the document or the travelling distance of the copying machine main body 100 by a motor 108 is made a little larger than the feeding quantity of recording paper. In such a way, no discontinuous space is generated in the joint of each scanning block, and the reliability and the operability are improved.
