PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled composite wire having a metal cladding layer with uniform thickness by cladding the metal on a core material having increased its diameter by equal length in a longitudinal and transversal directions along the cross section of the final shape, then by wire drawing. CONSTITUTION:A special-shaped base material 13 forming the metal cladding layer 12 of Al, etc., around the special-shaped seed core materials 11 having a nearly sectorial cross section, etc., is provided. The longitudinal length (a) along the cross section of the base material 13 is set as a summed length of the longitudinal length A of the final shape added with a prescribed length, and the transversal length (b) is set as a summed length of the transversal length B of the final shape added with a prescribed length. This base material 13 has the shape increased in equal thickness extending over the whole length of the cladded steel wire 10 of the final shape. A reducing work of the diameter in the equal thickness is performed on the base material 13 by about 15-25 % reduction ratio of the cross section to obtain the clad steel wire 10. In this way, the titled composite wire having the clad layer of equal thickness is obtained.
