摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten a time required for a recognition operation by previously detecting a position on a scanning line indicating the distribution of the brightness of color peculiar for a round bar shape object and executing an object recognition processing through a pattern matching only on the part of the detected position. CONSTITUTION:An intelligent robot 1 is provided with a robot main body 2, a controller 3 for controlling this robot main body 2, the television camera 4 of a visual sensor and a picture processing part 5 for processing the picture of this television camera 4. The controller 3 positions and controls the hand 21 of the robot main body 2 based on the position information of the object 6 from the picture processing part 5. The picture processing part 5 previously detects the position on the scanning line indicating the distribution of the brightness of color peculiar for the round bar shape object 6 and executes the object recognition processing through the pattern matching only on the part of the detected position.
