PURPOSE:To exactly prevent storing of an abnormal image in a memory by detecting the missing of a synchronizing signal, and prohibiting release of an image to the memory at the time of said detecting. CONSTITUTION:A Sync signal is inputted to a timing controller 4 and to a Sync Abs. (Sync Absence) detection circuit 8 (detection of absence of synchronising signal). If a Synch signal is missing, a detection signal is outputted to AND gates 9, 10. Accordingly, a release signal from a release switch 6 is prohibited, hence no signal is transmitted to a system controller 7. As a result, the release of an image to the memory can exactly be prohibited.
