PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate analysis, by performing large current lighting and small current lighting by different hollow cathodes. CONSTITUTION:Two hollow cathodes K1, K2 are longitudinally arranged in a tube bulb B in a light take-out direction and the hollow cathode K2 on this side when looked on a light take-out side is set as one for a narrow width bright line to be allowed to light by a small current and the rear hollow cathode K1 is set as one for a broad width bright line to be allowed to light by a large current. Therefore, the concn. of the vapor of the objective element in the hollow part of the lamp of the cathode K1 is high but that of the vapor in the hollow part of the cathode K2 is held to a low level. Since the light of narrow width bright line light emission due to small current lighting is taken out without passing through the high concn. region of the objective element, even when the cycle of pulse lighting due to one set of the large and small currents is made short, the light emitting intensity of a narrow width bright line spectrum is not lowered and highly accurate analysis becomes possible.
