PURPOSE:To make continuous production of fins different in kind attainable, by rotating a metallic short cylindrical base material as centering on a shaft piercing through the central part, and chipping a peripheral surface of the said base material as much as the specified thickness by an endless strip cutter traveling between both driving and driven pulleys set up an and around the peripheral surface of the said base material. CONSTITUTION:A driving pulley 23 is rotated by a drive motor 21 via a belt 22, and a metal sheet-make endless strip cutter 20 stretched across the pulley 23 and a driven pulley 24 is made to run between them. At that time, the cutting part 20c installed in a front side 20a of the cutter 20 is set up in the tangential direction of a short cylindrical base material 16 rotating with a shaft 17 as the center, while it is bitten into a peripheral part of the base material 16, whereby the peripheral part is chipped in succession. The long-sized strip metal plate 9 obtained like this is formed into a fin by a forming roller. And, a feed rate of the cutter 20 is altered, whereby thickness of the strip metal 9 is easily changed, thus programming operation at the time of manufacturing fins different in kind is simplifiable.
