PURPOSE:To correct a skew between plural tracks, to prevent the erroneous detection of RESYNC code, and to improve the reliability of data by detecting a SYNC code or a RESYNC code at a correct position. CONSTITUTION:The SYNC codes of all the tracks are detected by a discrimination code detection circuit 3 until an over-skew track is detected by a skew decision circuit 2. In a synchronization decision circuit 5, re-synchronism positions are counted internally, a RESYNC code detection effective zone signal is generated, and this signal is transmitted to the circuit 3. In the circuit 3, a RESYNC code is detected within a RESYNC code detection effective zone of not detected tracks from which SYNC code is not detected. Even when one and the same RESYNC code is read out at a normal position, an erroneous detection of RESYNC can be prevented at a track where SYNC code is already detected.
