PURPOSE:To reduce the driving force necessary for the transfer of the second tray by arranging the second tray which consists of the fixed part which is in waiting, piling the transported sheets in the piling of the sheets in the first tray and the transfer part. CONSTITUTION:A sheet S discharged from a copying machine is discharged and piled onto a processing tray 25 as the first tray without being obstructed by the transfer part 17b of a waiting tray 17 as the second tray which is set at a retreat position by driving means 21 and 22, by a transport roller pair 13 through a transport passage. When a prescribed number of sheets are piled, the transfer part 17b is connected with the fixed part 17a of the waiting tray 17 by the driving means 22, and the sheets S in the second bundle are piled onto the waiting tray 17. During this time, the piled sheets on the processing tray 17 are arranged and bound, and after the completion of the binding work, the transfer part 17b is retreated again, and the sheets S in the second bundle are transferred onto the processing tray 25. Therefore, the driving force necessary for the transfer of the second tray can be reduced, and the space can be reduced.
