PURPOSE:To display reception immediately without spending a waiting time, by selecting a channel corresponding to a targeted character broadcasting station by a remote controller, and displaying a data stored as a picture signal immediately after selecting a targeted program number. CONSTITUTION:When, for example, a first tuner 2a out of plural tuners 2a-2n is selected by a remote controller 19, one channel is selected from a video signal from an antenna 1 at the tuner 2a, and a character broadcasting signal is extracted at a sampling circuit 3a, and also, it is converted to a digital signal, and a program data per 1Vd is stored in a program memory 4a. Before arriving at the next Vd term, the program data stored 4 in the memory is replaced by the picture signal by an image processing CPU6. and is transferred to a memory 9 in order, then, it is stored. Similarly, the program data are stored in other channels. And when the targeted program number of a targeted character broadcasting channel is selected by the controller 19, an image-processed program data is taken out from the memory 9, and a designated program is displayed.
