PURPOSE:To reduce the direct manufacture cost of a rotator by assigning a tooth form on the pitch curve of two elliptic gears whose pitch curves are expressed by a specific polar equation, and approximating the tooth surface by an arc close to an involute curve. CONSTITUTION:The tooth form is assigned on the pitch curve of the two elliptic gears whose pitch curves are expressed by the polar equation I. Then the tooth form is formed by wire-cutting discharge machining while a tooth form assigned to a point Ak is used as one tooth of a spur gear having a pitch circle Ch which has its center at Ok and a radius rhok. The tooth surface is determined by approximating the involute curve constituting it by >=1 arc and using the center coordinates and radii of the arcs and the intersections of the arcs and addendum circles and the arcs and dedendum circles. Consequently, the shape of the rotator for the flowmeter is determined in a short time to manufacture the rotator, and the direct manufacture cost is reducible.
