PURPOSE:To deform a blank by twisting, to change the inclination angle of a movable die if necessary and to continuously change a twisting pitch by passing through the blank in the state of varying the inclination of both dies of a set of fixed and stationary dies. CONSTITUTION:A stationary die 3B and mobile die 3A are unable to move a blank A in neither thickness direction nor width direction but catch movably in the longitudinal direction only. The blank A receives a plastic deformation while passing through both dies 3A, 3B in this catching state to change the twisting deformation amt. in various sizes according to the size of the relative inclination angle (a) of both dies 3A, 3B. When, therefore, the inclination angle (a) is changed by operating the mobile die 3A, a twisting bar T is formed with changing the twisting pitch continuously. The blank A is rotated in the twisting deformation direction when the blank A is passed through both dies 3A, 3B. In order to pursue, this a chuck 13 is supported freely rotatably.
