A process for imparting an elastomeric finish to a substrate comprises (a) applying to the substrate a silicone blend comprising (1) a crosslinkable silicone intermediate of formula (I), R=H, or OR' or a 1-12C opt. substd. hydrocarbon; R1=1-6C hydrocarbon; X=R, OR' or (CnH2nSi(R)a (OR') 3-a; n=1,2 or 3; a=0,1 or 2; z=10-500; and R2=1-12C opt. cyclic, opt. branched, opt. substd. or opt. satd. hydrocarbon; and (2) a silanol of formula (II), R3=1-12C opt. cyclic, opt. branched, opt. substd. or opt. satd. hydrocarbon; and y=185- 3500; and (b) catalysing and curing the silicone blend onto the substrate. |
