PURPOSE:To make a part, which remains after a cutting process, be shorter than flange parts after a sealing process by projecting a glass tube from a side of split flat glass containers with flanges and disposing the glass tube on a position, where the tube is made shorter than the flange parts, and equipping a heater, a heater insulating part, a heat-radiating part, and a heat-shielding part. CONSTITUTION:A flat type displaying device B with flanges ahead of sealing is fixed on a vacuum exhaustion device. A glass tube 6 is made to pass through an electric sealing heater device A and inserted into an exhaustion port of the vacuum exhaustion device. While vacuum exhaustion is performed, the vacuum exhaustion device is heated. In succession while the vacuum exhaustion device is gradually cooled, it is degased, and a cathode is activated or so. While a voltage is applied to a heater 4 in the electric sealing heater device A, the glass tube 6 is heated, melted, sealed, gradually cooled, and then the flat type displaying device B is released from the vacuum state and extracted from the vacuum exhaustion device, and a sealing part of the glass tube 6 is cut at its central position. Since the electric sealing heater device A is thus equipped with a heat-radiating part 2 and a heat-shielding part 5, a part which remains after a cutting process can be made shorter than flanges 9 and 9 without exerting bad effects on glass containers 11 and 11.
