PURPOSE:To reduce a sounding error by oblique measurement by obtaining data of only constant sounding width in the right-left direction of a ship by data processing on a reception side. CONSTITUTION:A receiver array 21 receives a fan type received beam A2 from the bottom of the sea, converts it into an electric signal, and supplies the signal to an amplifier 22. When the depth of the sea is measured, a sent beam A1 is corrected with pitch data B2 so as to face down in the front-rear direction of the ship, fluctuations of the received beam A2 is corrected with roll data B1, and the depth is corrected with heap data B4. The output signal of the amplifier 22 is multiplied by multiplicators through multipliers 23-1 and 23-2, then passed through LPFs 24-1 and 24-2, and digitized by A/D converters 25-1 and 25-2 and stored in a received signal memory 26. A CPU 61 performs specific arithmetic according to data in the memory 25, stores the result in a depth section image memory 50, and displays its storage contents on a display 64.
