PURPOSE:To improve feeling on a passenger, by a method herein an actuator is controlled so that the opening of a throttle valve is slowly changed by a given function in response to a change of an opening sensor, detecting a control amount of an accel pedal, for the opening side. CONSTITUTION:During running of an engine 1, in a control device 11, an accel opening is set as a reference quantity by means of an opening sensor 10. The accel opening is corrected based on output signals from an intake pressure sensor 6 and a number of revolutions sensor 8 to compute a target throttle opening theta. theta1 is obtained by multiplying the target throttle opening theta by a primary delay function indicated by (1-epsilon<-t/tau>), according to the value theta1, a throttle actuator 7 is controlled to the target value theta1 to regulate the opening of a throttle valve 4 to a target value. tau is a primary delay time constant, and is set to an optimum value according to characteristics of an engine and that of the suspension system of a vehicle, and usually set to 0.1-0.5sec.
