PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a sequence program input device by converting the key codes supplied for each input of a single instruction into the codes for display of diagrams and displaying a circuit diagram on a sequence ladder based on those converted codes. CONSTITUTION:A sequence program input device consists of a display part 4 containing a liquid crystal display plate, etc., a driver 6 for the part 4, a key operation part 7 including an instruction word input key, etc., a CPU 9 which produces a control code to be sent to a sequencer main body 8, a ROM 10 and a RAM 11. When said input device is started, a key input deciding means 9a decides whether an input is given from the instruction word input key or not. If so, a conversion means 9b converts the input key code corresponding to the relevant instruction word into a control code and transfers it to a RAM of the sequencer main body 8. The control code is converted into the code for display of diagrams. This converted code is written into the RAM 11 and at the same time read out of a built-in ROM of the part 4 for update and display of a ladder circuit diagram.
