摘要 PURPOSE:To aim at a yet more improvement in accuracy of finishing by a machine tool, by setting up a measuring reference material, consisting of invariant steel such as Invar or the like, in a structural body, and measuring a displacement value of the structural body to this material with a displacement detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When machining by a tool 36 continues for hours, heat out of a motor and a spindle head 34 is transmitted to each of columns 18a and 18b via a saddle 28, whereby saddle sliding surfaces 40a and 40b are thermally displaced as much as delta, and a position of the tool 36 to a workpiece is also displaced as much as the said delta. On the other hand, the frame body 42 set up in a column 10 is constituted of measuring reference materials 44a-44l consisting of invariant steel such as Invar or the like so that there is almost nothing of thermal deformation, and each displacement of these saddle sliders 40a and 40b is detected by probes 48a-48f of displacement detecting devices 46a-46f attached to these reference materials, converting the displacement into an electric signal by a magnetic scale or the like, and this signal is outputted to a controller of a machine tool. Thus, accuracy of finishing by the machine tool is yet more improvable.
