PURPOSE:To prevent the characteristic deterioration in the conversion of a waveguide into a microstrip line by cutting off a part obliquely with respect to an end face of a dielectric base while a part of a ridge end face corresponding to the width or below the microstrip line is left when the ridge width of a ridge waveguide is larger than a strip line width. CONSTITUTION:The dielectric base 3 is placed to the end face of the ridge 2 of the waveguide 1 to connect the conductor 4 and the ridge 2 provided onto the dielectric base 3. The end face of the ridge 2 and the end face of the dielectric base 3 are made coincident to connect the ridge 2 and the conductor 4 by electric contact or soldering or the like and the corner of the ridge 2 is removed while leaving the part where the ridge 2 and the conductor 4 are in contact with each other Thus, the alignment between the ridge 2 and the dielectric base 3 is facilitated and the impedance change in the waveguide having the ridge is much decrease. Morover, the parastic capacitance of the connection part between the ridge 2 and the dielectric base 3 is much reduced and the deterioration of the characteristic in the conversion from the waveguide having the ridge into the microstrip line is not caused.
