PURPOSE:To execute hardening treatment around the whole cam surface without developing blow hole by shifting a torch back and forth at one time under condition that the rotation of the cam shaft is stopped and next rotating the cam shaft together with reciprocating motion of the torch. CONSTITUTION:Under condition of stopping once the rotation of the cam shaft 1, TIG torch 4 is shifted back and forth Q and remelt-hardening treatment is executed as linear only at the starting position of treatment. Next, the cam shaft 1 is rotated together with feed of the torch 4 in X-axis and Z-axis. By weaving of the torch 4, the regular remelt-hardening treatment is started and executed repeatedly on the part P beforehand pretreated. By this method, the remelt-hardening treatment around the whole cam 2 surface is executed without developing the blow holes caused by gaseous atmospheric condition, etc.
