PURPOSE:To provide a function to correct contents of a memory by constituting pointers of an up/down counter or a shift register capable of right shift and left shift. CONSTITUTION:An up/down counter is used as a write pointer 2 and a read pointer 3. The write pointer is operated as the up counter up to a write position and is operated in the same manner as a conventional dialer device. When an operator finds error thereafter to correct a key 2 in the second digit from the last to a key 1, he depresses a correction key. The write pointer 2 is counted up by one and the counter value of the write pointer 2 becomes '1000'. When the correction key is depressed once more, the counter value of the write pointer 2 becomes '0111'. The key 1 as the correct number is depressed thereafter to write correct data in a memory 4.
