PURPOSE:To provide an electrochromic display material excellent in its mechanical strength and responsiveness, by comprising the composite material of a transparent resin with a conductive polymer contg. a substance exhibiting electrochromicity. CONSTITUTION:A transparent resin (e.g., polyvinyl chloride) is compounded with an electrochromic substance-contg. conductive polymer obtained by synthetizing the conductive polymer (e.g., a polymer of pyrrole or thiophene) in the presence of the electrochromic, anionic substance (e.g., tungstic acid double salt or phthalic acid deriv.).
