PURPOSE:To eliminate a lateral misalignment from sheets fed with the conventional sheet feed device of a machine proper by providing an auxiliary guide member capable of insertion in a space between one of side guides and the seat thereof. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary guide member 38 is inserted in a space between one of two side guides 16 and 17, and a seat 14. The auxiliary guide member 38 has a width (t) and when inserted in a space between the right-side guide 17 and the seat 14, expands a space between both side guides 16 and 17. And the center of a sheet 15 is thereby shifted left by 1/2t from a position 'C' to another position 'C1'. By inserting the auxiliary member 38 in a space between one of the side guides 16 and 17, and the seat 14 pertinently whenever necessary as aforementioned, it becomes possible to make adjustment for eliminating a misalignment between sheets fed with a largequantity sheet feed device 12 and an inherent sheet cassette.
