The compd. of formula CR1R2=CH2 is prepd. by contacting a mixt. of CHR1R2CH3(A) and superheated steam, the mole ratio of steam to (A) being 2-20 esp. 5-13, with a spinel structure catalyst contg. lithium (or Fe, or Cr) at the elevated temp., 400-750 esp. 600-635 deg.C at atm. pressure. In the formula, R1 and R2 are each alkyl, alkenyl, Ph or H. The spinel compsn. has following mole ratios; (a) Li:O=0.01- 3:4 esp. 0.1-1.5:4; (b) Fe:O= 0.01-2.9:4 esp. 1-2.5:4; (c) Cr:O=0.01- 2.5:4 esp. 0.05-1:4. Therefore, a Li0.5Fe2.4Cr0.1O4 spinel composite had good results in the process. |
