PURPOSE:To attain reproduction between two points without giving incongruity, by fading in a bit of main information at first position and fading it out at second position when the reproduction is performed in second reproducing mode. CONSTITUTION:A servo circuit 3 moves a pickup 4 in the radius direction of a disk, and makes it search first absolute time t1. A control circuit 7 controls a level control circuit 6 until a reproducing absolute time inputted from a decoder 5 coincides with the absolute time t1 stored in a memory 9, and mutes an output signal. When the absolute time t1 is searched, the control circuit 7 displays the absolute time on a display means 10 at need. And the servo circuit 3 is controlled, and ordinary reproduction is executed from that position. Also, the control circuit 7 controls the level control circuit 6 and releases muting, and simultaneously, varies on output level gradually to a larger value for a prescribed time, and executes fade-in. When an absolute time t2 is detected in a window reproducing mode, the control circuit 7 varies the output level to a smaller value gradually for the prescribed time by controlling the circuit 6 similarly, and executes fade-out.
