PURPOSE:To prevent a read switch from hunting owing to variation in the liquid level in a tank main body by forming a float chamber in the tank main body and operating the reed switch by a float provided in the float chamber. CONSTITUTION:A suction pipe 28 for fuel is inserted into the tank main body 1 and the float chamber 32 is formed at the periphery of the tip end part of the suction pipe 28. The float chamber 32 is equipped with an intake 38 linked with the tank main body 1 at its lower part, and the float 35 and the reed switch 33 which operates following up the float is provided therein. Consequently, the float 35 is provided in the float chamber insulated from the tank main body by a partition wall 31, so even when the liquid level of the fuel in the tank main body fluctuates, abrupt fluctuations of the float 35 are suppressed. Thus, the reed switch 33 which operates following up the float is prevented from hunting.
