PURPOSE:To miniaturize a tool rest and also perform machining of a large amount of eccentricity by providing a rotatively drivable turret body with a rotary tool holding shaft and a turning driving means and by allowing the rotary tool attached to the holding shaft to turn by the specific angle. CONSTITUTION:An offset tool 11 is attached to a main spindle 3 through a second spindle 7 and a rotary tool 20 is secured to a rotary tool holder 11e. In the next step, a turret 2b is turned to arrows A and B to position the axis CT1 of the main spindle at either a position parallel to arrows C and D, or a poaition parallel to arrows K and L. At this point, the spindle 7 is rotated to the direction of an arrow E or F by the motor 19 for driving the second spindle to rotate the tool 20 of the holder 11e with its axis offset from the axis CT1 by the specifiesd quantity OF1 in the direction of an arrow H or G. In these conditions a tool rest 2 is moved properly in the directions of the arrows K and L or C and D. As a result milling in eccentric condition can be performed without enlarging the tool rest 2.
