PURPOSE:To enable the desulfurization of molten pig iron with only hot desulfurization slag used once to desulfurize molten pig iron in a ladle, by dropping the slag into other ladle to make the grains fine by impact force produced by the dropping and by further making the grains fine by stirring force produced by molten pig iron during receiving in the ladle and forced stirring force applied during desulfurization. CONSTITUTION:Desulfurization slag used to desulfurize molten pig iron in a ladle is dropped into other ladle in the form of hot slag to make the grains fine by impact force produced by the dropping. The grains are further made fine by stirring force produced by molten pig iron during receiving in the ladle and forced stirring force applied during desulfurization to increase the area of the reaction interface. When the hot desulfurization slag is used by >=9kg per 1 ton molten pig iron, the molten pig iron can be desulfurized with only the slag and reduction of the temp. of the molten pig iron during treatment is suppressed.
